Apostates: Iran further erodes minority rights
Posted on March 18, 2008 by storiesuntold
Apostasy is an official crime against the state in some Muslim countries, and where it is not, the punishment of execution or severe persecution is often carried out by individuals as the rule of law looks the other way. Soon, Iran my join the list of countries where the death penalty is mandated for the crime of apostasy.
Of course, it goes without saying that we can’t look to the UN for any help in tackling such an egregious abuse of an individual’s civil rights.
